Kings need castles, and apparently so do kingbirds! An eastern kingbird (Tyrannus tyrannus) couple has been nesting near Belvedere Castle at Turtle Pond in Central Park for several years. In 2019, they returned despite construction that closed the castle and the later reopening, and they had a successful nest. Some of the family was filmed on July 23, 2019.
