Black-bellied whistling ducks (Dendrocygna autumnalis) normally hang out in the southern states, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, etc. But on June 12, 2019, I visited Nickerson Beach on Long Island and saw a small flock of them chewing up the lawn between the parking lot and Lido Boulevard. These ducks are very sociable, and what I noticed watching them was that as most of them were lawn-mowing with their heads down chomping away, one would almost always be upright, checking out the neighborhood for danger.

The Filming the Feathers video shows the black-bellied whistling-ducks forage on the lawn at Nickerson Beach, and then flying off when one of the ducks thought it time. The music is by Johann Sebastian Bach.
